Hi! I am so glad you have come here! I hold such a strong belief that authenticity supports connection and healing, and this is why I think it’s important you get to know who I am.
I was born and raised in rural areas of Northern Arizona splitting my time between my mom’s house and my dad’s house. I am the oldest child of my siblings. I moved to the Phoenix area when I turned 18 and obtained my bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Development at Arizona State University. I quickly started my master’s degree in Couples/Marriage and Family Therapy through Capella University and graduated in 2014.
In 2016 I moved to Denver, Colorado. What I love most about Denver is the climate and landscape being quite similar to the rural areas I grew up in, but with the additional luxury of a city. Outside of work I am often doing something outdoors. I love backpacking, hiking, eating, and traveling.
It can be helpful for some folx to know a little about my experience and credentials. I have worked in a variety of settings since 2009. I started out as a client advocate at a domestic violence shelter in Arizona, and then transitioned to work in-home as a family support specialist with preservation and reunification services. After getting my master’s degree I started working at a co-occurring substance abuse outpatient and inpatient facility. In 2016 when I moved to Colorado, I started working at a community mental health agency in the early childhood department seeing children 2 to 8, pregnant moms, and moms struggling with postpartum depression/anxiety. I have now been in private practice since 2019. I also provide training and supervision to other therapists in the field.
Since 2009 the certifications and trainings I have received are: Licensed Marriage/Couples and Family Therapist, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, EMDR Consultant in Training (CIT), Completed Level 1 Theraplay Training, trained as a Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator, and trained in the Working Model of Child Interview.
I look forward to getting to know you, and our work together!
