Supervision/ Consultation for Therapists

Kellee Scannell, LMFT-S, RPT-S, EMDR CIT, and Certified Synergetic Play Therapist

I needed someone to believe in me before I could believe in myself. Good supervision and consultation for therapists, new and seasoned, is vital to our sustainability within the mental health field. Working in a variety of settings throughout my career has helped me identify what good consultation or supervision looks like, and what it does not look like. I am committed to creating a safe space where supervisees can explore how to show up authentically for their clients through holding their own painful history and their client’s painful history simultaneously. I help supervisees begin to develop compassion for themselves as “parts” of the supervisee begin to emerge between them and their client.

Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn’t know before you learned it -Maya Angelou

Consultation can and should feel like getting a glass of water; leaving supervisees feeling hydrated for sessions to come. I have worked in a variety of mental health settings since 2010. Most of my clinical practice has focused on trauma and its impact on family systems. I’m passionate about helping therapists understand how to work with children and families together in one cohesive approach drawing from: Synergetic Play Therapy, Theraplay, EMDR, and Family Therapy.

I conduct consultation sessions with counseling professionals and lead trainings for professionals. Much of my consultation and training uses experiential modalities. I also offer supervision towards MFT licensure within the state of Colorado. Consultation and supervision services are provided in person, or when appropriate via confidential web conferencing.

You may consider listening to the podcast I co-host,  The Whole Therapist Podcast , to determine if my approach is a good fit for you.
