I am a trained Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator ©. My training as a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist and training in Theraplay® Level 1 enable me to have the skills needed to support your goals as a caregiver. Circle of Security International © tells us after 60 years of research we know that the more secure children are, the more likely your child will be able to move towards what you are wanting for them. I am here to support you in making sense of your child’s symptoms and behaviors and helping you lean into compassion for yourself in the process.
My work with caregivers helps them identify the needs of their children and attend to and hold the needs identified for their children. My background in family systems helps me understand that each family system has a different set of values, customs, and cultures. With this understanding our work together will primarily be reflective in nature as I take an authentically curious stance while balancing your need for concrete tools.
I strongly encouraged all caregivers to be receiving their own individual therapy. I cannot provide individual therapy to my child clients’ caregivers; however, I have a list of trusted colleagues I can refer you to.
Policy regarding Child Therapy/Parent Coaching & Litigations:
When working with a child as the child’s therapist, providing parent coaching, or individual therapy with a parent/caregiver I DO NOT and will NOT take on a second role, such as the court evaluator, parent therapist, mediator, or expert witness for either parent. If you are involved in divorce or custody litigation, my role as a therapist is not to make recommendations to the court concerning custody or parenting issues as I’m not a CFI (Child & Family Investigator) or PRE (Parental Responsibilities Evaluator).
